Who we are
Masjid App is provided by Ayan Capital Ltd ("Ayan", "we"), a company registered in England and Wales (company number [number]), registered office [registered address]. We are the controller of your personal data. You can contact us at [privacy email].
What we collect
- In the app: the mosque you choose, your settings, and a notification token if you turn on notifications, with your device type and app version.
- Your location, if you allow it, to show mosques near you and calculate prayer times. Prayer times are calculated on your device; to find mosques and the town you're in, the app sends us your location rounded to about a kilometre, and we don't keep it.
- If you create an account: your email address, your mosque and your settings.
- If you contact us for a mosque: your name, phone number, email address, your message and the mosque's details.
How we use it
- To run the app and your account. Lawful basis: contract.
- To send prayer reminders and news, only if you turn them on. Lawful basis: consent. You can turn them off at any time in Profile › Notifications.
- To reply to mosques and set them up on Masjid App. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
- To keep the app and this website secure and fix problems. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
Who we share it with
Service providers that host the app, send emails and deliver notifications, under contracts with us. Mosques only see totals, never who you are. We don't sell your data.
Outside the UK
Some of our team and service providers are outside the UK. When your data is accessed or stored outside the UK, we protect it with the safeguards UK law requires.
How long we keep it
- Your account: until you delete it. You can delete it in the app at any time.
- Mosque enquiries: up to 2 years after our last contact.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to give you a copy to take elsewhere. Email [privacy email]. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
This website doesn't use cookies. The mosque cabinet uses one cookie to keep its administrators signed in.

We'll post any changes on this page. We'll update this policy before donations launch in the app.
